Black History Month Highlight: Bridget Brown of Pages and Posts

February 26, 2024

We had the esteemed privilege of connecting with one of our clients, Bridget Brown, to get her insight on what it means to be part of the next generation of business leaders in our culture's rich history. See below for her take.

How did your business come to be? What was the inspiration for this business?

I founded Pages and Posts in 2018 after working in the traditional workforce as a mechanical engineer for 14 years. I’m both a technical and creative person; therefore, the main reason for transitioning to entrepreneurship was to have a wider outlet for my creative nature. Most importantly, I wanted to fill a need that I saw many businesses struggle with - creating an online presence. A high-quality online presence is one of the top assets a company can have. From website design to social media engagement to digital advertising - providing consistent messaging and quality that resonates and sparks clients to take action can be a daunting challenge. Pages and Posts strives to enable owners to grow their businesses quicker than they otherwise could have by providing beautiful yet hardworking websites, engaging content and data-driven strategies.  Services currently include website design, website care plans, logo design, content writing, social media management and digital advertising.

What is the greatest accomplishment you’ve experienced as a business owner?

I gained my first local government client in 2023. As with most things in life, once you achieve a milestone for the first time, it’s easier to achieve additional similar milestones. I look forward to getting more government clients, which is a door to the increased revenue needed to grow my business, hire staff, and leave a business that could enable my family members to achieve more wealth.

What is one of the biggest challenges you’ve faced as a black business owner?

My biggest challenge is achieving the revenue level needed to hire and train quality contractors/employees. I look forward to getting to the point where I can hire so that the service fulfilment wouldn’t be so heavy on me.

How has INTELUS Wealth Management contributed to your business’ success?

INTELUS has helped me see the bigger picture when it comes to planning for business success. My INTELUS advisor provides guidance on having a retirement strategy that evolves with my business. I appreciate that he strives to expand my network of potential clients.

What advice would you give to the next generation of black entrepreneurs?

Always seek more knowledge on how to run a business: learn about financial statements, bookkeeping, talent acquisition, marketing, etc. Conversate with successful business owners.
